Consob participates actively in the preparatory work in European institutions leading to the enactment of legislation in its areas of competence.
It provides assistance to other competent authorities of EU countries in accordance with Community law and, where this is lacking, under cooperation agreements.
Consob is a member of European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma), which brings together the securities commissions of 26 countries of the European Economic Area.

Consob is a member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO ), together with the commissions of more than 110 countries. It also participates in other international organizations such as the Financial Stability Forum, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the World
Trade Organization (WTO) and the Joint Forum on Financial Conglomerates.
