MONTE TITOLI SPA: CONSOB APPROVES THE AMENDMENTS TO THE CENTRALISED MANAGEMENT SERVICE (CSD) REGULATION

The Commission, in agreement with Banca d’Italia, pursuant to art. 81, paragraph 2 of the CLF, has approved the changes to the regulations for the centralised management service (CSD) and connected and central activities of Monte Titoli SpA, approved by the company’s Board of Directors in their meeting of 15 December 2016.

The changes set out the performance of new tax-support services by Monte Titoli SpA.

More specifically, Monte Titoli will provide tax support regarding all Italian securities, including State securities, to all foreign investors in its centralised management system, regarding requirements of share dividends, interest on bonds and capital gains.

This will allow simplification of the chain of intermediation, allowing foreign intermediaries to reduce operating and counterparty risk, and therefore increase efficiency, security and transparency in the securities market.
