Notice regarding the Guidelines on non-significant benchmarks issued by ESMA pursuant to the article 40 of the Regulation (EU) 2016/1011

The Italian Companies and Stock Exchange Commission (CONSOB)

On June 19, 2019, ESMA published on its website, in all the official languages of the European Union, the "Guidelines on non-significant benchmarks under the Benchmarks Regulation" (the "Guidelines"), adopted by the European Authority, pursuant to Article 40 of Regulation 2016/1011 ("BMR Regulation") and in accordance with article 16 of Regulation (EU) n. 1095/2010 establishing ESMA. The Guidelines are now available also in the Italian language, on the institutional Consob website.

The Guidelines are intended to ensure the common, uniform and consistent application of the non-significant benchmarks, of the requirements of the supervisory function, of the data-relative provisions, of the transparency of the methodology and of the governance and control requirements to be applied to the providers of supervised data.

In compliance with paragraph 3 of the aforementioned article 16 of the ESMA Regulation, Consob communicated to the European Authority its own compliance with the aforementioned Guidelines, all along with their integration into its own supervisory practices.
