Financial education in the workplace: protocol between the Edufin Committee and INAIL

Committee for the planning and coordination of financial education activities Edufin, of which CONSOB is a member together with the major national financial institutions, has signed a memorandum of understanding with INAIL (Italian National Insurance Institute for Accidents at Work) to undertake initiatives of education in finance, insurance and retirement provision.

The protocol, which will involve more than 8600 employees of the Institute throughout Italy, is the first large-scale agreement of cooperation between the Committee and a public body on the issue of financial education.

It also helps to implement National Strategy for Financial Education through training modules on topics such as currency, payment methods, as well as with in-depth study of pension, insurance, financing and investment instruments.

There is also a pilot study planned on the effects of financial education within the workplace, which will form the basis for future training initiatives.

In addition to CONSOB, the Bank of Italy, IVASS (Institute for the Supervision of Insurance) and COVIP (Pension Fund Supervisory Commission) are also expected to be involved, again as members of Edufin.
