Advertising web initiatives which generically recommend fiticious investments and could be functional to the acquisition of sums of money or personal data

In the context of its supervisory activity, Consob detected an increase in advertising campaigns relating to alleged investments, implemented through banners, advertisements, pop-ups and/or similar advertising tools variously displayed on websites and social networks or, sometimes, through email or telephone messages, by the means of which it is generically foreshadowed, also through the undue matching between advertised investment and well-known personalities, the possibility of gaining significant (often unlikely) financial returns in exchange of the proposed purchase of shares of well-known international technological and commercial companies, of renowned football clubs and/or crypto-currencies.

In the context of these advertising campaigns, users are requested to ask for information about the advertised investment by the filling out of a form with their personal details and their telephone and /or email numbers to be called back. Consob therefore warns the savers about the risks associated with such advertising initiatives which generally foreshadow fictitious investments which could, in reality, be functional to the acquisition of sums of money or personal data.
