Cyber security - The G7 has published the document "Fundamental Elements of Cyber Exercise Programmes" on the development and execution of multi-annual exercise programmes for public and private financial entities (26 November 2020)

As part of their efforts to strengthen the financial sector's preparedness in the event of cyber incidents, the G7 Finance Ministers and Central Banks Governors have approved the publication of a number of non-binding, high-level guidelines on the development and execution of multi-year exercise programmes (G7 Fundamental Elements of Cyber Exercise Programmes).

The document has been developed as a tool to guide public and private financial entities in the definition of exercise programmes on cyber incident scenarios, even with impacts on multiple sectors and jurisdictions.

The publication is also intended to encourage individual entities and other jurisdictions outside the G7 to adopt the same exercise standards in order to improve the international financial sector resilience.
