Applications open from 16 to 22 March 2026 for Global Money Week

Rome, 2 February 2026Applications are now open to submit events and initiatives for Global Money Week 2026, the international awareness-raising campaign on financial, insurance and pension education aimed at young people.

Global Money Week is the annual initiative promoted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, with the aim of increasing awareness among younger generations of the importance of sound financial skills for making responsible decisions. Since 2012, the initiative has involved more than 70 million young people in 176 countries.

In Italy, the organisation and coordination of activities are entrusted to the Committee for the planning and coordination of financial education activities (Comitato Edufin).

The theme of this edition is “Smart money talks”. Young people often face financial choices but are not always comfortable talking about money. Sharing experiences and asking the right people the right questions, together with sound financial, insurance and pension knowledge, can help them develop skills, avoid mistakes and build healthy habits to support their financial well-being.

The Committee for the planning and coordination of financial education activities invites associations, institutions, schools, universities and research centres, companies, foundations, public administrations and all interested organisations to submit awareness-raising initiatives on financial, insurance and pension matters addressed to young people and the school community.

Applications may be submitted through the dedicated form available on the website www.comitatoeducazionefinanziaria.gov.it. All initiatives meeting the requirements set out in the Global Money Week 2026 Guidelines will be accepted. Approved events will be published in the official calendar of the initiative and communicated to schools.

The deadline for submitting initiatives is 25 February 2026.

The Committee for the planning and coordination of financial education activities is responsible for planning and promoting financial education and awareness-raising initiatives to measurably improve knowledge and skills in the fields of savings, investments, pensions and insurance.

The Committee, currently chaired by Professor Donato Masciandaro, is composed of: the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Education and Merit, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, the Bank of Italy, CONSOB, the Pension Fund Supervisory Commission, the Institute for the Supervision of Insurance, the Organismo di vigilanza e tenuta dell’albo unico dei consulenti finanziari, and the National Council of Consumers and Users.
