CONSOB is funded through contributions paid by supervised entities and does not receive public funding transfers from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The CONSOB funding system is governed by Law No. 724/1994.

How it works

​​​Consob’s funding model is mainly based on contributions paid by entities subject to the Authority’s supervision.
The methods for determining and collecting contributions are defined annually in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework.
Supervised entities include, among others:
  • listed companies;
  • financial intermediaries;
  • market management companies;
  • auditing firms;
  • crypto-asset service providers (CASPs).
