 Application form for patronage or use of the Consob logo

1. General principles

Patronage is a symbolic form of support for events and activities not directly organised by the National Commission for Companies and the Stock Exchange (Consob), as well as an expression of appreciation for their contribution to Consob’s institutional objectives.

The granting of patronage and/or authorisation to use the logo is free of charge, meaning that it does not involve any cost for Consob, does not require Consob to participate in the expenses of the initiative and does not entail any financial benefit of any kind for the applicant.

Patronage and/or use of the logo are granted for the duration of individual initiatives. They do not extend by analogy to other similar or related initiatives, even if promoted by the same applicant, for which a new request must be submitted. They may not be granted on a permanent basis or used for certification purposes or for any other legal effect.

The granting of patronage does not automatically entitle the beneficiary to use the logo, which must be expressly requested. In any case, the use of the logo is subject to the granting of patronage.

Patronage and/or use of the logo are not granted for initiatives that:

  • have a direct or indirect profit-making purpose. Fundraising initiatives carried out by non-profit organisations, registered in the relevant lists and recognised by law, are not considered profit-making where their purpose is deemed worthy of contributing to Consob’s institutional objectives;
  • are aimed at promoting trademarks or advertising commercial or publishing products, firms, companies, etc.;
  • provide for the awarding of prizes or recognition to entities supervised by Consob;
  • fall within the ordinary activities of the applicant, such as advanced training courses and master’s programmes in the case of educational institutions and universities;
  • are political or exclusively religious in nature;
  • provide for the payment of a participation fee, except in exceptional circumstances, to be assessed on a case-by-case basis according to the institutional relevance of the event and the nature of the fee as a mere reimbursement of expenses.

2. Requirements for beneficiaries and initiatives

Initiatives for which patronage and/or authorisation to use the logo is requested may be submitted to Consob by public or private entities, such as bodies, associations, organisations, foundations, committees or other entities of clear reputation and prestige which, by virtue of their institutional, scientific, economic, social or cultural standing and reputation, provide guarantees of reliability, seriousness, fairness and validity of the proposal.

These initiatives must be considered by Consob to be worthy in terms of quality and relevance of content and must relate to matters falling within Consob’s institutional mission.

3. Obligations of beneficiaries

The mention of patronage and the logo, in all forms of publicity, such as invitations, flyers, posters, etc., must be given adequate prominence and, in any case, equal prominence to any other patronage, emblems or logos of public or private entities supporting the initiative.

4. Withdrawal by Consob

Consob may withdraw the granting of patronage at any time in order to protect its image if it finds that the conditions established for granting patronage have not been met.

In particular, in the event of false statements concerning the type, conduct and purposes of the initiative, the nature of the organising entity, the use of the wording “patronage” and the logo, or the use of the same in ways that do not comply with these provisions, the beneficiary will be prevented from receiving further patronage, without prejudice to the assessment of any criminal and civil liability.

5. Memoranda of understanding and agreements

These provisions do not apply to initiatives falling within the scope of memoranda of understanding or agreements entered into by Consob in which Consob’s participation and the use of the logo are already regulated.
